The 12 Days of AI by OpenAI
This has been a BIG week for AI. In the sprit of the holidays, OpenAI kicked off its "12 Days of OpenAI" event, and it’s full of exciting launches and announcements designed to showcase how AI is transforming the way we work, create, and live. From December 5 to December 20, OpenAI is unveiling a new feature or product every single day.
Here’s a quick rundown of what’s been revealed so far:
Day 1: o1 and ChatGPT Pro
OpenAI announced the o1 Model, which improves reasoning by allocating more time to responses, and ChatGPT Pro, a premium tier packed with advanced features for professionals. By the way, ChatGPT Pro is expected to cost $200/month but is expected to include all of the tools in rolled out of the 12 days.Day 2: Reinforcement Fine-Tuning Program
They expanded access to their fine-tuning research program for complex tasks, inviting researchers, universities, and enterprises to dive in.Day 3: Sora
This was a big one! OpenAI released Sora, their text-to-video generation tool that lets you turn text prompts into animated videos, remix content, and even bring still images to life.
Each day is packed with something new, and OpenAI is hosting livestreams at 10 AM PT daily to walk you through the latest updates and features.

But Sora is not the only game in town. MiniMax, a Chinese artificial intelligence startup founded in December 2021, has rapidly emerged as a significant player in the AI industry. Supported by major investors such as Alibaba Group and Tencent, the company has developed a suite of AI-driven products, including text-to-video generation models and AI companion applications.
This app is 100% free. I am yet to try it, but I will once I get my new Mac for Christmas.
