How to Clone a Competitor’s Instagram Video (for Research & Inspiration)

Want to break down what’s working in your competitor’s content and reimagine it for your brand? Here's a simple workflow you can follow to analyze and repurpose high-performing Instagram videos using AI tools.

Step 1: Identify a video you like on Instagram and copy the share link. Look for content that feels on-brand or is performing well in your niche.

Step 2: Use a free tool like Igram (igram.io) to download the video. Paste the URL and download the .mp4 file.

Step 3: Upload the video to Google AI Studio. This tool allows you to have a real-time conversation with video content—something very few platforms support today.

Step 4: Ask AI Studio to extract insights. You can prompt it to generate a transcript, highlight key moments, or summarize the content. For example: Summarize the video into key takeaways and even ask it to rewrite the script or adjust the tone.

You could also ask it generate a storyboard from the content:

As you can see it not only describes each of the scenes in detail, it also generates screenshots of it with the right on-screen text!

Step 5: Explore visual variations. Here’s the cool part. Once you have the storyboard, you can prompt AI Studio to recreate the same visual sequence but with variations—different models, settings, or styles. For instance, ask it to generate the same storyboard using an Asian model.

Step 6: Refine and produce. Use Canva’s Magic Grab or Magic Erase tools to edit image elements, or import the generated frames into a video tool like Kling. You can use the outputs as-is or refine them for brand use.

This is just one way AI is changing the game in content creation. Whether you're building a library of social creatives or experimenting with new visual hooks, the tools are finally here to scale your ideas—fast.

If building an in-house team feels overwhelming, we can help. Reach out to [email protected] to explore how we can scale your content production efficiently and affordably.

Reve Image 1.0 has quickly risen to the top of the AI image generation space—and for good reason. It’s fast, easy to use, and produces striking visuals with impressive prompt accuracy, even if you're not a prompt-engineering pro.

One standout feature? It handles text inside images exceptionally well—perfect for product packaging, social posts, and branded graphics. You can also edit images using simple language (e.g., ā€œmake the background whiteā€ or ā€œchange this to leatherā€), upload reference photos, and generate in different aspect ratios.

For e-commerce teams, Reve is ideal for:

  • Creating high-quality visual content, fast

  • Mocking up product imagery with embedded text

  • Rapid creative experimentation without a design team

It’s currently free to try at preview.reve.art.

How Does It Stack Up to ChatGPT-4o?

We tested the same prompt in both tools:

Create image: Hyper-realistic photograph of a luxury car. A right-handed person cleans the car's oxidized headlight in their residential driveway, using a thick white napkin-style cleaning cloth. Shot in 8K ultra-high definition, capturing the person's right hand grip on the thick white cloth as they polish the headlight with circular motions. The restored right headlight gleams with crystal clarity while the left shows the cleaning in progress. A well-maintained suburban house with red brick facade and manicured lawn visible in the background. Natural morning sunlight creates realistic reflections on the car's metallic paint. Photographic details include visible water droplets, thick cloth texture, and microscopic scratches being removed. Professional automotive photography style with perfect exposure and sharp focus.

Between the two, Reve.art came out on top for image realism, lighting, and detail. It's not perfect, but it’s impressive—especially considering the ease of use.

Now, if you want control the text styling even more, take your AI-generated base image and finish it in Canva, like I did. It’s a quick way to layer on polished text or layout tweaks.

AI tools like Reve.art are moving fast—and this one’s already useful and FREE (for now)

Give it a spin, explore what’s possible, and start leveling up your visual content.

Nerd Byte: Prompting Tricks that I Actually Use

If you’ve been overthinking your prompts or trying to get everything ā€œjust right,ā€ here are a few techniques I use every day to move faster—and get better results:

1. Don’t sweat the typos.
My fingers are flying across the keyboard when I’m in flow—and I never stop to fix spelling errors. LLMs like ChatGPT or Claude can easily figure it out. Typos don’t break the magic. Speed > polish (at least during prompting).

2. Start with ā€œYou are the bestā€¦ā€
This may sound silly, but starting with something like:
ā€œYou are the best Amazon Listing Optimizer. Please help meā€¦ā€
gives your prompt a subtle power boost. It sets the role clearly and almost always results in more helpful, confident answers. Don’t skip it—it works.

3. Use screenshots for deep context.
Whether it’s a messy Zoom whiteboard, a product detail page, or an entire Amazon search results page around a keyword, just drop in the screenshot. The model can read full pages of text and images with no problem—even at weird zoom levels. It’s one of the fastest ways to add visual context without writing a paragraph.

For example I dropped this search results page for the keyword ā€œAshwagandha gummiesā€ and dropped this hard to read screenshot into ChatGPT.

I then asked it to analyze the screenshot.

Here’s a screenshot of the search results for ā€˜ashwagandha gummies.’ Can you tell me what stands out visually, which brands are leading, and what creative trends I should consider for my own product?

And it gave me a detailed critique of all the content on that screenshot. Here’s the full conversation.

Alright, let’s break down what pops, who’s winning, and what you can steal shamelessly—strategically speaking—from this Amazon results page for ashwagandha gummies.

šŸ”„ What Visually Stands Out

1. Bright, Bold Labels with Strong Color Blocking

  • Goli and HUM are owning the shelf with clear, colorful, minimalist packaging.

  • Nature’s Truth (green + tropical colors) also stands out.

  • Purple is the power move ā€” seen across HUM, Drops of Nature, and several Mushroom blends. It gives a premium-meets-fun vibe.

2. High Contrast & Easy-to-Read Fonts

  • Goli’s ā€œSUGAR FREEā€ and product name hit hard even at thumbnail size.

  • HUM’s modern typography makes it instantly recognizable.

  • Avoid the noisy label trap: the busy products like ā€œShilajitā€ or capsule blends with turmeric, sea moss, etc., look cluttered and hard to digest.

3. Gummies-In-The-Frame (Literal Candy Shot)

  • Many thumbnails (Goli, Drops, Shilajit, etc.) show the gummies next to the bottle. This visual shortcut screams "it's candy, not medicine," helping appeal to wellness skeptics or casual buyers.

4. Badging + Social Proof

  • ā€œSponsored,ā€ ā€œBest Seller,ā€ ā€œSmall Business,ā€ ā€œ1K+ boughtā€ tags add instant trust and context.

  • The ā€œOverall Pickā€ label on Nature’s Truth = algorithmic endorsement. Gold.

šŸ† Leading Brands Dominating the Page

1. Goli

  • šŸ“£ Loud packaging (bright red), badge-happy, with a well-known brand name.

  • Instant trust with ā€œsugar-freeā€ front and center. It’s the probiotic of ashwagandha right now—ubiquitous and mainstream.

2. HUM Nutrition

  • ā˜ļø Premium aesthetic, calm colors, wellness-meets-beauty crossover.

  • Appeals heavily to the lifestyle/wellness consumer vs. hardcore supplement buyer.

3. Drops of Nature

  • 🧠 Smart play combining mushroom stacks + ashwagandha for a trendy biohacker angle.

  • Purple packaging is modern, with a ā€œfunctional candyā€ feel.

4. Clean Nutraceuticals

  • šŸ“¦ Capsule format but still showing up frequently due to smart keyword stuffing (Ashwagandha + Turmeric + Sea Moss = SEO salad).

šŸ”® Creative Trends to Consider for Your Own Product

āœ… Stack the Benefits—Literally

  • Lions Mane + Ashwagandha. Sea Moss + Turmeric + Burdock.

  • Combo stacks make your product sound like a powerhouse. Just don’t go too ā€œwitch’s brew.ā€

āœ… Lean Hard into Gummy Candy Vibes

  • Gummies shown front and center. Give them life, color, texture. Make them look snackable.

  • Consider alternate shapes/colors to stand out—most are red/purple blobs.

āœ… Lifestyle Angle

  • HUM and Goli subtly imply beauty, calm, sleep, and balance—not just ā€œstress support.ā€

  • Add benefits that align with actual life situations: sleep, work focus, parenting chaos.

āœ… Color = Positioning

  • Red = bold, confident, energy (Goli)

  • Purple = calm, adaptogen, brain health (HUM, Drops of Nature)

  • Green = natural/organic (Nature’s Truth)

  • Black = premium, serious, almost medicinal (Shilajit-style brands)

āœ… Call Out Specific Claims on Label

  • ā€œSUGAR FREEā€ is not just a claim, it’s a headline.

  • ā€œKSM-66ā€ (the name-drop of the adaptogen world)—highlight if you're using it.

🧠 Final Takeaway for Your Brand

If you’re launching an ashwagandha gummy:

  • Own a niche: stress + sleep, brain + beauty, or calm + energy (don’t try to be everything).

  • Design for thumbnails: high contrast, bold text, zero clutter.

  • Highlight what makes you different in both image and copy (formulation, flavor, certification).

  • Create video ads showing lifestyle usage—not just a bottle on a spinning table.
