No technical jargon, no pie-in-the-sky concepts—just straightforward, actionable advice to help you stay competitive and grow your online business.

Let's jump in...

For this first section on AI Practical Use Cases, we are going to use a free Custom GPT called ListifyAI (By Andrew Erickson) to completely transform and optimize a listing to an SEO-enriched, ready to be deployed listing on Amazon. The best part? It’s FREE!

How we use this CustomGPT (you will need a paid ChatGPT4 account):

  1. Copy all your images into ListifyAI

  2. Provide additional information from the current listing including Title and Bullet Points. Below is a sample listing that we tested. As you can see, it reads poorly and isn’t properly optimized.

ListifyAI will quickly analyze the listing and create 3 sets of Top Keywords, High Priority Keywords and Medium Priority Keywords on it's own! But you can always provide those yourself based on your research.

ListifyAI will then embed all those keywords in the right placements for maximum impact and generate a brand new one for you in under a minute!!

Here’s the final result:

Title:

Bullet points:

  • Soft and Comfy Material: Made of 95% Rayon and 5% Spandex, this summer dress is stretchy, lightweight, and super cozy against your skin, perfect for warm weather.

  • Flattering Design: Features a classic round neck, a-line silhouette, sleeveless cut, and swing hem for a flattering and flowy look. Includes practical side pockets for added convenience.

As with any Chat, you can always go back on forth on anything that you don’t line and would want to update.

This week's Cool Tool is Perplexity.ai. I heard about it from my friend Chad Rubin from Profasee. More than a tool, its a full blown search engine that can be used for free for the most part!

Perplexity uses multiple LLMs, including GPT-4, Claude 3, Mistral Large, and its own custom models. It has:

  • Real-time web crawling and information retrieval

  • Natural language processing for conversational interactions

  • Ability to ask follow-up questions and adapt answers

  • Multimodal capabilities, including image and document analysis

I asked it this question: “When is Prime Day 2024 and what advice do we have from leading PPC service providers on how to prepare for this year?” The response was way better than searching on Google.

The great thing is that it also quotes and links to sources referenced in the responses:

Not only that, you get clickable links to highly related videos on the Topic:

If you want, you can also ask it to focus responses to a particular type as below:

When I chose focus to Reddit this is what I got:

For this week’s Nerd Bytes section, we are talking about how to dramatically improve the quality of your prompts.

By this point we all think we know how to write prompts. But this instagrammer has some really cool advice on tweaking your prompts just a little to get spectacular results. He adds a “Think Before” section to his prompts to make them SO MUCH BETTER!

We tested this out for our AI newsletter. So, instead of saying:

Give me 5 subject lines for my next AI for E-Commerce Newsletter

I tried saying:

Give me 5 subject lines for my next AI for E-Commerce Newsletter. Before each variation I want you to think through how I can get the best open rates, and elaborate on your reasoning before you give me an idea

The difference was night and day. See for yourself…

The reason why the “think before” method works so well is that when ChatGPT actually write out it’s thoughts the model has a better chance at giving you higher quality responses than simply rattling off some response in the shortest period of time.

Try it out for yourself!

For the Thought leader section this week we asked our friend, the one-and-only Kevin King, what he is seeing in the world of AI for e-Commerce, and this is what he had to say...

“I think a lot of Amazon sellers and software companies are gonna be in for a rude awakening if they don’t start preparing now for the impending change in how we rank and sell products on Amazon.

It won’t surprise me at all if we see sellers doing $5 million per year drop to $500,000 because they weren’t paying attention and adapting.

As my friend Vanessa Hung says, it’s time to start preparing to sell to the AI first instead of looking for keyword exploits. All the signs are there in flat files that have changed.

Search is going to change.  Keywords will still be important, but more in a semantic way than literal way.  What and how you style your product images and infographics will play a much bigger role in ranking and relevance. Plus reviews and external mentions and comments about your brand, including social media signals and sentiments,.

Currently you have to ride the line between the old way and the new way that is coming. Pay attention to what Amazon is testing and publicly what is being discussed in papers from Amazon Science. Start beefing up your off-Amazon presence on the web and in social.  Play with Rufus on your Amazon app and use tools like Amazon Comprehend to check your listings.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. Ritu is on the cutting edge of all these AI implications and changes and tools to use. You can always stay on time on the latest here in her AI for E-Commerce newsletter, and supplement that with the www.billiondollarsellers.com newsletter every Monday and Thursday.”
